experts are saying Google is full of crap - https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn … ers-speed/

War isn't always about who has the best jets.  There's tons of ways a conflict can go, from nukes all the way to land invasions.

nutjob? She speaks as if she is intricately involved in the Snowden situation, yet her video only has 870 or so views. Could just be a crazy, but how do we know?

#5 Re: Corruption » Edward Snowden » Mon, Nov 9th, 2015 8:44 pm

It always fascinated me how the tables were turned on him.... He basically said "Hey America!  Your rights are being infringed upon!", and they said back "We Control the media and are going to try to make you look like a criminal and terrorist and hope no one pays attention to what you just said.". wtf.

If anything I feel that this should have raised awareness to the amount of biased information we are exposed to. Was there any media that actually looked at him like he had done the right thing by informing the public about the agencies violating our privacy rights?

#6 Re: Science & Religion » Science and religion are both stupid as sh*t » Mon, Nov 9th, 2015 8:31 pm

That's my whole f*cking problem with it.  Religion attempts to CONVINCE you that everything you know is wrong, and they are right.  This goes on the assumption that you lack the personal judgment, and they are somehow better and have found "the answer".  It's insulting and condescending.

Sure, there's a time and a place for comfort, but it's a possible solution to many different possible situations and should be used as such.  In many cases comfort is used as a manipulative tool as well as being an actual attempt to remedy a situation.

#8 Re: Conspiracy » Flat Earth Society nutjobs » Mon, Nov 9th, 2015 8:03 pm

Yeah right, but saying that we justify our beliefs through science as if it's a possibly BAD thing is basically hinting that science could possibly be a load of crap, YET there's a HUGE amount of things that we can do for ourselves through science to prove its validity.

Sure, I guess if you want to be extremely technical, you can say that the earth actually could be flat and it's all illusion, but you might as well f*cking argue that Neo is a real person and Hollywood made a movie about him. roll

The evidence for flat earthers is "we disgregard nasa and science".  f*cking bullsh*t.

I love that there are still people out there who are convinced the earth is flat... if you haven't checked this s**t out, it's hilarious - "The Flat Earth Society" http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/cms/

I think they are crazy.

It's easily disprovable through basic science. Of course none of them believe the footage from space is real either. lol

There's other people doing this besides just Intel, but it's pretty amazing. They have created a USB Computer that plugs into an HDMI port.  The specs are pretty limited - 2gig ram 32gig storage, but the potential for embedded computing becomes much more apparent.

In a perfect world, people would be logical and rational. People wouldn't kill one another because there would always be people around to talk to about a person's needs or angry feelings because communication on a real level would be encouraged.  Education and the growth of the mind would be supported. Instead of limited answers in a a book, schools would have discussion sessions and share ideas with one another.  The people who were appointed positions of responsibility and power would gather perspectives from the public in general to relate their decisions to a realistic level of influence.  The internet would have no "deep web", because drugs and the decisions to experiment with them would have a time and a place and be used responsibly, as they have for ages. Music and the arts would be less financially driven, and more culturally driven because enjoyment doesn't always need a price tag. Voting wouldn't be crooked because the people could easily overturn a government if it was corrupt. There would be a limit to how much a country could go in debt or how many weapons they could have. There would be limitations of what information was considered confidential as there are many things that don't threaten National Security that are currently considered "top secret".  Sports would be free to watch because people would value the players and the players would be playing for their love of the game instead of status and money. The list goes on.

Both science and religion are f*cking horribly stupid.  Not because both think they are right (as if that sh*t weren't enough), but because they both try to discredit eachother. Who gives a flying f*ck if someone believes there is a magical floating man who decides everything. I'd be more worried about the people who think that politics and the voting system are fair and work well.  I feel like people get wrapped up in differences of theistic belief and totally ignore the fucked up sh*t that is going on around them.  There are more important things than arguing about how sh*t in the universe started, because let's say God is a giant lemming and decided to make all this sh*t because he was bored.... what the f*ck then?

So there's this new type of insurance fraud going around where you'll be driving at a low speed, and the people in front of you slam on their breaks.  Then they claim their necks are all screwed up and that they have all these medical problems just so they can get money from insurance.  This sh*t is pretty rampant, so always watch where the f*ck you are going.

Consumerism is an interesting topic.  I feel that there are essentials that we need to thrive in a complex environment, and then there is simply consumerism that is self indulgence.  I fear that many people have become selfish, fat, and lazy people simply because everything is so easily accessible, and they can indulge themselves at a somewhat low cost.  We've got ebay, Walmart, convenience stores, and plenty of other ways to get goods, but the question is, how much of this sh*t do we actually need to survive?  It's so driven by capitalism and profit models that the things we buy are simply bought for enjoyment or increasing our status symbol. People buy phones with higher display resolutions so they can see their movies more clearly while their fat *sses eat bon bons.
